It’s good to know what you don’t want.
It’s also good to know that you want something different.
However, it’s dangerous to not know where you want to go. It enables people who say whatever you want to hear take control over you. It’s how elitism is created and sustained. We need to be able to think through 5 years, 10 years, 20 years and 50 years down the road and how these possible changes will not only effect us, but the generations that will come behind us.
That is what having emotional intelligence and values based authenticity does for you.
It enables us to sacrifice for the greater good, and helps us to focus on how to effectively serve those around us.
Doing “something else” isn’t always better; especially if it’s driven by emotionalism instead of emotional intelligence and values based authenticity.
